diy knot pillow

Leikkasin trikookankaasta kaksi samalaista neliön mallista palaa, joiden kussakin kulmassa on n.20 cm pitkät "hiipat". Asetin palat päällekkäin, kankaan oikeat puolet vastakkain. Huristelin ompelukoneella kolme sivua läpi, käänsin työn, pujotin sisätyynyn paikoilleen ja tikkasin viimeisen sivun käsin umpeen. Ja tein hiippoihin solmut. Tuo oli tosi helppo ja kiva tehdä.

ps. Jos innostuit toteuttamaan tätä itsekin, suosittelen valitsemaan juurikin trikoo- tai velour-kangasta, sillä niistä saa helpoiten napakat solmut. ;)

/ After my last post, I've received so many questions regarding my diy-knot pillow that I decided to write about it some more.

See, I was inspired by this Tine K Home pillowcase and decided to try and imitate it myself. So this is what I came up in my own sewing sweat shop. It was fun and easy (not to mention cheap). :)

I just cut two similar pieces of tricot fabric: square-shaped with appr. 20 cm long capes at each corner. I put one piece on top of the other, top sides against each other. Then I sewed three sides together with a sewing machine. Turned it inside out and slip a pillow in. Then stitched the fourt side together by hand. And then knotted the capes in each corner.

If you decide to do this, I recommend using tricot of velour fabric. That way you'll get tightest knots. :)
